Very in-depth review, thanks Craig.

I've held off getting any smartphone, even wary of the Android OS even though it's by Google, open-source etc. I love Apple's hardware and their user experience but... ultimately it's the carriers and their locked-down nickel-and-dime plans that turn me off.

Still on the fence!

The Rogers full price on the Arc is currently $550 or $100 w/3 year contract and the iPhone 3GS is exactly the same price right now, although it has been sold cheaper I think with some carriers.

Craig, nice post. I'm wondering what are the prices for both those devices.
I just came back from Europe and a lot of people are using HTC smart phones with Android OS. They are saying that they are better then iPhones ... I can not comment on that but they are much cheaper for sure.
